Details of SC Fire Chief Accused of Pulling Gun on Teens Emerge

June 23, 2023
Fearing he was going to be robbed, the Townville chief pursued the teens and held them at gunpoint.

Last summer, two teens pulled into a driveway to turn around. Shortly afterward, things went south.

Townville Fire Chief Billy McAdams, thinking there to burglarize, chased them down and held them at gunpoint, according to Fox Carolina.

The conversation between the chief and a 9-1-1 dispatcher was released this week.

The teens' parents are suing McAdams who denies assault and false imprisonment alleged in the court document.

MGC, the firm representing the chief said in a statement: “First and foremost, Mr. McAdams is extremely concerned about the situation and is committed to addressing any allegations with the utmost sincerity and cooperation. We believe a complete picture of all the facts will validate our client’s position and are confident in the ability of the legal system to deliver justice.”
